I actually send the steamcores last since I spend all of that on automatons and steamcores barely take up logistical limits. You can only send 50 people max at a time and a certain number of resources (coal, food, steel, cores). No matter what you do, 500 is the max number to able to save. If you recall, a new home specifically has people from winterhome scattered in the southern locations in the map. By the last few days you should have torn down nearly all the houses, the factory, the wall drill, half the thumpers and gatheting posts the workshops, at least half of the resource depots (since you ll be using a TON of steel, all the depots previously for steel are now useless) When you get enough steam cores and engineer automatons this shouldnt be a problem.īe sure to tear down winterhome as you evacuate. All upgrades from then on are all steelworks or automaton upgrades and then housing to make sure my people are warm. I actually send my first 2 automatons right at the 2 steelworks and keep them going 24/7. factory/steam steelworks, flying hunters, automaton upgrades and advanced steelworks, prosthetics. Iirc its 1 day max between removong the team and running out of coal). If i remember correctly, i go faster gathering (lots of things to gather when you start), more scouts (first scout team beelines to the steel deposit and then send my outpost team there ASAP, 2nd team beelines to trailer at the right edge of the world map for steam cores), steam coal thumpers (you can't last long once you remove the outpost team on the initial coal outpost so you NEED to be self sufficient in the coal industry as soon as possible after you remove the team.
#Frostpunk 2 trailer generator
You don't really need any weather updates when the level 3 generator (which you start with) already has enough heating to last up to around day 22 or so before the generator fails and the heating lowers 2 levels. By that point in the game you should already have engineer automatons and be more or less 95% done with the tech tree besides the last generator upgrades and repair station upgrades. Get the engineers from the weather station by the time you build the repair station. Only send the 25 engineerd to man the dreadnought at first, then kids, then workers, and then decide if you want to send the rest of the engineers at the last possible moment. This might have compounded from you evacuating engineers. Prosthetics won't be used unless you have an open healthcare building. I'm going to replay again, and this time, save everyone. If only I han'dt cancelled them just to save on a few more blocks of iron.Īnd last but not least, curse that Captain of Winterhome. Sadly I only realized right before the generator exploded. I should also have realized that I've already had extra 3 steam cores in the wall drill, and that if I had realized that earlier and didn't disband my outpost, I could have saved a few more by being able to add a few more cabins. Either that, or my unfamiliarity with the evacuation centre interface doomed about 100 or so people to death (i still think that they could have hitched a final ride on the last train).
Seems to be that you can't just stuff all the children in the first go, and then go with all workers the next push. Turns out that there's a kind of 'thing' where you need to give stuff in proportion. I should really have checked out on the evacuation centre. Only in the final day of the generator did I see the number of amputees drop from 33 to 28 Because for some goddamned reason, after I made enough prosthetics for everyone, they just spent days without going out to grab them. I should have really gotten those prosthetics earlier. That hope loss is a good enough payoff, because like hell I'll let my precious engineers go. Allowing those engineers to leave first made the medical posts get undermanned, leading to a death spiral.
I *should* not have allowed those engineers to move into the Dreadnought first. So turns out that after putting the entire setting on Easy, reading through everyone else's walkthroughs, and reading through the wiki, I still couldn't save everyone.
